WBGA Pre-Team is a transitional level to our competitive program for selected young athlete’s ages 5 through 8 years old.
As a part of our Pre-Team you will learn how to set and achieve goals, develop self-discipline, learn responsibility, and strong work ethic. Throughout the process of growing as an athlete you will build strong mental attributes such as: positive self-image, self-motivation, tenacity, patience, willingness to sacrifice for personal development, and courage. The unique nature of gymnastics will contribute to improving strength, flexibility, kinesthetic awareness, balance, muscular control, endurance, coordination, timing, explosive power, agility, and speed.
The gymnasts will develop close relationships with other young athletes that demand the best of themselves and expect the best in others.
The gymnastics impact in these areas is indeed a lifetime experience.
The goal of the Pre-Team program is to acquire physical abilities such as, strength, flexibility and speed in addition to core drills and progressions for specific skills. Typically the athlete will spend a year within the pre-team program before progressing to the competitive gymnastics team (Compulsory levels 4 and 5). Progress comes with training and commitment, that is why it essential for the athletes to have consistent attendance. There is a lot to be learned during the year and the entire curriculum is learned in steps.
